               Ted Jones - Australian Legend

Ted Jones - Australia Legend

War hero, successful businessman, wonderful family man and Australian legend . . .

Ted Jones came into this world on 14th March 1925. When he left it on 4th February 2010, the world had lost one of the last true heroes of "the finest generation".

Ted grew up in Sydney's beach side suburb of Maroubra in the 1920s and 1930s where he served as a surf lifesaver. He then went on to join the 2nd AIF as an Infantryman, and later, as a forward scout in the 2/11th Australian Commando Squadron, serving with distinction in Labuan and Borneo in 1945. His RSL epitath reads that he "he faced the enemy with his back to Australia", and never flinched. After the war, Ted was a successful businessman in the Transport & Storage industry, and a loving family man.

Ted was an "old school" Australian gentleman, a "man's man". The world will miss him.
